Hello everyone!
I hope everyone is having a great week!
This past Sunday we took Annie to her new home! She went to live with Cesar, Hanaeleh’s first rescue! He looks great and was very happy to have a new friend!
When we first unloaded Annie and put her out with Cesar, neither of the horses cared about each other- they were both too concerned with the people petting them (and possibly the hope of food).
We tried to move behind the gate, but the horses just kept following us, so we actually had to move closer to the house and onto the patio so they would interact with each other. They seemed made for each other! We watched them a long time, then said goodbye, and when we “reappeared” the humans were back to being the main focus, and not each other.
Annie and Cesar’s new owner, Phyllis, called me the next day and said that Annie was doing great! They had a very quiet night, and the next day Annie trotted up to the gate, whinnied twice, and when no one answered, turned around and began eating. She settled right in and will have a wonderful life with Phyllis and Carl, just hanging out and grazing and greeting the horses who pass by on the trail.
We are so happy for Annie, and we know she will have a great life and will be very well taken care of!
