Older QH mare needs home! Please see contact info and summary from the owner below:
Jackie is a quarter horse mare with many years of Western riding experience and is good for riders of all ability levels, though she is used to being gently ridden on trail. She is incredibly sound, riding confidently through busy streets as well as narrow trails. She is currently being ridden in a hackamore and has all the gear you need to ride her.She has been a lead working horse on a ranch, a 4H horse used to teach children horsemanship skills, a therapeutic riding horse for children with disabilities, and a wonderful companion to me for 5 years.
Jackie is approx 29 years old but you wouldn’t know it looking at her. She is in good shape, has great energy, and loves to go out on the trails. I regularly ride her on trail for extended lengths of time.
Jackie has no major health issues. She receives no medication or supplements. Her diet is alfafa cubes. She displays an allergy to hay which manifests in coughing.
Her vaccinations may need to be updated as she hasn’t received any in a year and half. Since she is older, I chose not to vaccinate her this year. The vet does recommend, though, that she have her teeth floated.
She is shod on all four feet and receives farrier care every 6 weeks. Her farrier is excellent and I highly recommend him. I can provide his contact information upon request.
