We have been applying for a number of grants that would allow us to expand our programs and rescue more horses. These grants typically require either a full certified audit or review of the taxes. We did not foresee this as being an issue, until we realized that these audits cost several thousand dollars, even for small non-profits like ours.
We are hoping that there is someone out there in our network who may be able to offer their services pro-bono or at a reduced rate for either a full account audit or even just an account review. Once we have this completed, we will qualify for those grants and hopefully be able to save even more horses!
