Equine Certified Coaching for Veterans

September 25, 2016 By ezarkos

equine-coaching-for-veteransHanaeleh is pleased to announce that we will be starting a Certified Equine Coaching program for U.S. military veterans. This program was sponsored in part by a grant by the employees of Boeing in Orange County.

Currently the EAC program meets on Sundays from 9am-11am and runs for six weeks. As we are able to fund future sessions, we will be able to add different times.

For more information, or to enroll in this or future sessions, please contact: kelley@hanaeleh.org.

Equine-assisted coaching is one of the many different types of equine-assisted work that helps humans work through the issues that they may be encountering at that time. Equine-assisted work allows individuals to make breakthroughs much more quickly than traditional methods, as horses do not judge people, and they have no agenda. They are large, strong animals, but they are also prey animals, and therefore trust with a horse must be earned; they are brutally honest, and mirror our body language and act accordingly. After sessions with the horses, individuals are encouraged to transfer the lessons they’ve learned from the horses to their personal and professional lives. Sponsored by a grant from the Boeing Employees of Orange County, Hanaeleh is offering EAC to military veterans free of charge in order to help them more successfully transition back to civilian life.

Equine Coach: Kelley White

Kelley White brings over 20 years of experience in the field of education, families and children. She began working in an alternative education setting, and this experience led her to open Coastal Mountain Youth Academy- a non-profit recovery high school for young people and their families. Her equine certification allows her to offer equine services to help individuals who have experienced trauma. This unique blend of experiences allows her to bring many different skills and tools to the individuals, families and groups that she serves to help them make a positive change in their lives.
