Appaloosa/POA in Need of Good Home

Buddy has been accepted into the Therapeutic Riding Center of Huntington Beach! We could not be happier! He looks so happy in all of his update photos and seems to be doing well there. We wish him happy trails with his new home and we know he is in a great place! Thank you TRC of HB for taking him in!!

***UPDATE ON BUDDY***
Buddy is in a trial period with a therapeutic riding center in Southern California for a few weeks. They have been sending us photos and updated us daily. He seems to be doing well! He is up to usual antics and has pulled down one rain tarp, chewed a few toys, and is eating everyone’s food. Sounds like he is feeling quite at home!

Here are some photos of him in training in an English saddle and learning to be a therapy horse! We will update again if he passes all of his tests! (So far so good – he even passed the test where they throw Nerf balls at him. Didn’t even blink!)

Meet Buddy!

He is a smart little guy that is looking for a good home. He is about 14.3 hands, 12-14 years old, and is in great shape. He gets worked daily and has been in training (for western riding) in the past but not recently. He rides only Western as far as we know and rides in a hackamore. He truly thinks he is hilarious (and most of the time he is!). He would be great for poles, barrels, gymkhana. He is super smart and even knows some tricks! He thrives on attention and loves back scratches!

His owner recently lost her husband to cancer and financially and emotionally she can’t handle the horse anymore. She loves him though and wants a good home for him. He is free to someone who is willing to take him and give him a great home. I have ridden him (that’s me in the picture) and he is push button/needs gentle cues and responds well. He is a great horse for the right person who has time for him. He is very social.

Up to date on worming/vaccs/etc. He is barefoot and does fine that way. Great feet and sound horse. He is an easy keeper (never refuses anything), clips/ties/trailers, goes on trail. He needs an intermediate to advanced rider.
