Hanaeleh works with multiple animal shelters in the area, and we have rescued several cats and even Darwin the tortoise from the Irvine Animal Shelter!
A few weeks ago we were sent an urgent message about three little kittens who were only about 10 weeks old, but because they were unsocialized and a bit spicy, they had no public interest and were in danger of being euthanized. We were hoping another rescue group would be able to take them, but at the 11th hour when there didn’t seem to be anybody to save them, we stepped up.
Thankfully one of our wonderful volunteers, Michelle, offered to foster the kittens and help get them more socialized. She has done an amazing job, and while they still hide and will occasionally hiss or give a low growl, they are improving everyday: no swatting, striking or biting. They are able to be held and petted now – head and full body pets – and they purr when comfortable.
Both kittens are very playful! The grey kitten is more confident, whereas the white/grey will follow closely/needs a little more time to feel comfortable. Both kittens are males and have been neutered.
The ideal adopter would have previous cat/kitten experience, even better an adopter with “shy cat” experience. If you would like to adopt either of these kittens (or both!), please email: info@hanaeleh.org or call: (949) 842-7408 with your contact info and we will put you in touch with the foster family.
