SAFE! Phoenix, AZ: Two Trail Horses Need Homes ASAP!

July 15, 2022 By ezarkos

UPDATE: Hanaeleh was able to place these two horses in a therapeutic riding center nearby! They will be working in their veteran therapy program.

We received a call about two horses who need homes in the next few weeks because their owners are moving and have been dealing with medical issues. They have called all of the rescues in Arizona but they have said that they are full. They want their horses to go to a good home, which is why they reached out to us. Both horses have had regular vet and farrier care, and both have shoes.

The horses have been with their current owners for four years, but because of the owners’ health issues, they have not been ridden for the past two years. Although they don’t have to go together, priority will go to homes who can take both of them as they both need a home by the end of the month.

Dusty

Dusty is a 22 year-old gelding. He is a dun Appaloosa. The owners said he is a great trail horse.

Duchess

Duchess is a 24 year-old mare. She is a Quarter horse/Arabian cross. The owners said that she was used to give trail lessons at the rescue where they got her from, and she is a great trail horse.

We are going to forward any potential inquiries onto the owners. If you are interested in these horses, please contact: elizabeth@hanaeleh.org

Glenda Gets a Brand-New Coop (Thanks to Our Amazing Volunteers!)

August 28, 2025 By ezarkos

Glenda is one of the chickens at our ranch, and she had previously been living in a coop we built when we moved onto the property. The coop was sturdy enough to keep larger predators out, but unfortunately mice and rats were able to find their way inside. We did what we could to try to strengthen … [Read More...]
