Oppose BLM Proposal to Remove 1,000 Wild Horses in Nevada
Following the controversial roundup of nearly 2,000 wild horses in Nevada’s Calico Mountain Complex, the BLM postponed other wild horse and burro removals. IDA’s lawsuit regarding the Calico roundup is in federal court, with a ruling expected in a few weeks.
The hiatus in wild horse removals is about to end, as the BLM prepares to begin new inhumane and unnecessary roundups next month.
Act today to oppose one of the largest of the pending roundups – the removal of approximately 1,000 horses from nearly a half-million acres of public land in Nevada’s Great Basin region. Once again wild horses are being removed so private ranchers can use public lands for livestock grazing. Please tell the BLM that you oppose these unnecessary roundups and will continue to fight for reform of BLM’s broken and costly wild horse program.
