Hanaeleh was contacted by another rescue in February, asking us to help with a paint horse who had been abandoned at a local stable in Orange County. The owner had stopped paying board, and was several months behind. One of the people at the stable saw that LadyBug wasn't being cared for, and reached out to the owner. SAFE! Norco, CA: 12 y/o Quarter Horse/Arabian Cross Needs Home!
We were told by the owner that Bandero is SAFE and has a new, loving home! Thank you to everyone who helped to network him! Hanaeleh was contacted by a woman who is looking for help in rehoming their family's horse. Unfortunately they are no longer in a position to care for Bandero, so they are looking to find him a good home. Bandero is around 12-13 years old. Southern California, CA: Horses and Donkeys in Need of a New Home!
We are very saddened to hear of the passing of a volunteer sanctuary manager who quite suddenly passed away just recently. The sanctuary assistant manager is filling in as needed to oversee the new and remaining caregivers and their sanctuary duties. However, in the wake of this sudden loss the sanctuary has decided to downsize a little. Congratulations to Sierra and Charlotte!
We are very pleased to announce that our very own board member and volunteer coordinator, Charlotte, has decided to adopt Sierra! Hanaeleh rescued Sierra in August of 2021. Before she came to us, Sierra had been given to a family who had no horse experience. Sierra was very sweet on the ground, but the family quickly realized that the daily work that is required to care for a horse was more than they could handle.
