Hanaeleh is a small rescue, and as a 100% volunteer rescue with a minimal budget, we do our best to help horses in our area as well as those across Southern California. We work to ensure that our neighborhood horses are safe and in good condition, mostly by being available to help those who are finding homes for their horses. Lots of Fun at Hanaeleh 5K “Race for the Horses”
We had a great time at our 5K this morning! We had a great group of runners and walkers who participated this chilly Saturday in Rancho Santa Margarita. We had some issues with marking the route and we had some runners go off-course because of it, but otherwise things seemed to go relatively smoothly! Hanaeleh Workday/Open House 2/4/17
Many thanks to all of those people who came out for our workday and open house this Saturday! We had volunteers from several organizations, including the Lions Club and Girl Scouts come out to help. The Amish saying, "Many hands make light work," is one of our mottos; by all of us working together, we are able to accomplish what we would never be able to accomplish by ourselves. Meet Stetson, Our Latest Rescue!
Please welcome Stetson, our latest rescue at Hanaeleh! Stetson is a 26 year-old chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. We were originally contacted about Stetson last June when his owner called us asking to help her find a home for him. Stetson had been owned by a local trainer but he started tripping while being ridden.
