Many thanks to all of those people who came out for our workday and open house this Saturday! We had volunteers from several organizations, including the Lions Club and Girl Scouts come out to help. The Amish saying, "Many hands make light work," is one of our mottos; by all of us working together, we are able to accomplish what we would never be able to accomplish by ourselves. Hanaeleh Work Day!
We had a number of wonderful people who came out to our workday this weekend! We had Girl Scouts as well as volunteers from Assisteens, and people who just wanted to come out and help! Some of our volunteers helped to prune back our out-of-control garden, some helped to shore up our driveway, and others helped with various chores, including cleaning the bucket, cleaning the chicken coop, helping us move pellets and shavings, raking up leaves, etc. These are things that we always need to do, … [Read more...]
Savannah, Tamahome and Girl Scouts
Hanaeleh was invited to present at a local Girl Scout Jamboree in Irvine this month. The girls learned about feed, tack, parts of the horse and horse behavior. We also taught them how to approach a horse and the girls were able to pet them as well. Our two ambassadors were Savannah and Tamahome, who enjoyed their time with the girls, getting treats and attention (they also enjoyed eating the grass!).
