Stetson is a 29 year-old Quarter horse who spent most of his life as a lesson horse at a local stable, helping to teach people how to ride. He developed Cushings, which the owner treated, but when Stetson developed neurological issues at the age of 25 and would start tripping, it was obvious that he was no longer safe to ride. Maggie Update
Last week we had Maggie tested for Cushings- with her coat growing in the way it has and her general attitude, we wanted to do the blood test to check to see if she was Cushinoid. The results came back and she is, indeed, Cushinoid. We will start her on medication this week and have already changed her diet.
