We are sad to report the death of Clara, one of the chickens at Hanaeleh. October has been a difficult month here at Hanaeleh, and while the death of Clara may not seem to be that important to some people, she was a part of our family here at the ranch for a number of years. Food for Thought Grant
Hanaeleh joins other animal protection organizations across the United States, such as the Humane Society of the United States, Best Friends Animal Society, to adopt a compassionate food policy. Due to its formal adoption of a compassionate food policy, Hanaeleh has been awarded a food grant from the Food for Thought campaign. RIP Samantha the Chicken
It is with sadness I must state that Samantha (one of our chickens) passed away last night. She was a little "off" on Sunday, and yesterday she was very lethargic, so we separated her, expecting to take her to the vet today. Unfortunately, she passed away sometime last night. We will bury her alongside of her sister, Tabitha. Samantha was a very good chicken, laying up through this spring, and would come when you called her.
