Thank you for reading my email as I really need help and do not know where to turn. My financial situation has changed in the past year and I cannot afford my horses. I am working two jobs and do not have the necessary time they deserve I have had them for 8 and 10 years. I have not been able to ride them in over a year. I do not want to jeopardize their health and I wish they had more human attention.
Chief (Chief Checker Bar) is a 23 year old Paint horse who cannot fight off flies on his own. He needs daily attention – the flies create sores and without attention he will continually bite and scratch them until they are infected and a problem. The vet says he simply cannot remain in the desert where I live (Coachella Valley) and he needs a cooler environment. He is healthy otherwise and could still be ridden if someone could spend time with him. Lexie (Lexie Blue) is a 19 year old Fox Trotter who is as sweet as can be. She is so easy to ride and is a great horse. I’m sure I could find a home for her but if that means Chief will have to miserable and alone then that’s even worse than now.
Is there somehow – someway to find two wonderful older horses a home? I’m in dire straights. I put ads out to give them away but no luck. If there is anything anyone can do I would be forever grateful. It breaks my heart to have to even ask.
