CA- Young Paint Stallion Needs Home

This lovely boy needs a home very quickly or he will be put down. He is a paint stallion- he was rescued from the slaughter pen in Fallon, Nevada in 2010. The owners were told he was a 3 year-old gelding, but he turned out to be much younger- and a stallion. He is very gentle and is good around mares and plays well with geldings, but the owner of the facility does not want a stallion on the property, so he will be euthanized unless someone can take him.

This poor guy has been through a lot- he was starving before he was rescued, and he is deaf. He has come a long way and it seems a shame that after all that he has come through that he is in danger again.

He has had extensive ground work done with him and has been saddled but not ridden. He is very respectful of people. In December he pulled a muscle in his back while playing, and was lame, but the owner says he is walking well now. He is about 14.3-15 hands.

We are hoping that there is someone out there who wants a very attractive and sweet boy- someone who will geld him and finish his training.

Hi,
Last night you talked to Becky Scott about this colt that we have to find a good home for or he’ll be put down.

Becky was able to rescue many ponies before they stopped releasing them to rescues.

The man sent 3 in this load to our friend up north then we met her & just loaded into our trailer. We thought he was a 3yr old gelding starved. he went out in pasture to gain weight. In May we traded 1 of our horses to pasture so I could work with him.
We realized he was a young horse! He looked a lot like the older one he came with.
He did fine out with our mares & everybody.

We did months of ground work with him. saddled him from the start no problems.
Sept. he dropped 1 testicle.
At Christmas time he hurt his back, maybe playing with other gelding.
walked like he pinched a nerve.
He walks a lot better now. I think he would be fine to ride at a walk/trot.

He lost his molars mar./may I’m not good on age. when ever it is they loose them.
both testicles are dropped. he’s by mares acts fine.
He is a very sweet boy & love to play with geldings.

My friend Lucy rescued him up in the desert I have pictures of him when he came in starving I can send you if you like.
He came out of Temecula (sp) originally.
