Hello Everyone-
There is an old e-mail circulating around about 52 Thoroughbreds who were in danger of going to slaughter. The e-mail was true, but these horses were all saved in January, 2011.
For some reason, this e-mail was picked up again about 2 weeks ago and the rescue community has been trying to squash it, but we are highly effective communicators and have a very extensive network, I have discovered. Today the e-mail was posted on Craigslist in North Carolina and was on two other rescue sites, and I received three other messages about these guys as well.
If you receive an e-mail about these horses, please direct the sender to this link:
The problem with allowing this to circulate is that it takes away from the rescue attempts of those horses who are, indeed, in desperate need of a home. If you know of anyone who has room to take a horse in a desperate situation, I have posted several in the past two weeks on our blog: http://hanaeleh.posterous.com . Most of them have found homes, but some have not, and are still in danger.
Thank you again for networking these guys- it is amazing how the word spreads around the country!
